Job Summary:
The Estimator will play a crucial role in developing and preparing accurate construction cost estimates for various projects. This individual will be responsible for reviewing plans and architectural drawings, conducting quantity take-offs, and ensuring a thorough review of all project materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review plans and architectural drawings to identify scope of work and potential challenges.
- Conduct thorough quantity take-offs to ensure accurate estimating.
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve questions and concerns regarding estimating practices.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Solicit bids from qualified subcontractors and vendors.
- Analyze bids to ensure conformance to project specifications, price, material quality, insurance, wages, and related items.
- Discuss and resolve any questions or issues with subcontractors.
- Follow approved estimating practices and procedures.
- Ensure the most complete and accurate estimates are developed to meet financial objectives.
- Maintain current information on trends in and changes to existing construction codes.
- Utilize appropriate software programs to calculate, record, and track estimates.
- Attend client meetings to discuss pricing and estimates, resolving any issues and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Determine material and labor requirements, preparing itemized lists and computing cost factors.
- Prepare estimates used for planning, organizing, and scheduling work; selecting vendors or subcontractors; and determining cost effectiveness.
- Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of retail and restaurant fit-up or other relevant experience.
- Procore knowledge and experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite, preferable.
- Excellent presentation skills to enable easy internal client education.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable transportation.
