Warehouse Material Handler

Job Description

The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for receiving product into the warehouse management system by following the developed standard operation procedures. This position is responsible for ensuring that all transactions are completed timely and accurately both physically and systematically. This person will work in a progressive fast paced environment. $18 -20/ hr plus monthly bonus. Hours: M-F 8:00am - 4:30pm

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Unload, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries
• Process small package returns in a warehouse fulfillment environment
• Accepts or returns merchandise according to established company procedures
• Properly label and store materials in pallet racking locations
• Makes necessary verifications against documents, unpacks and routes goods or chemicals to appropriate storage areas
• Inspects and verifies incoming goods against invoices or other documents, records shortages, and rejects damaged goods or hazardous goods
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods
• Maintains internal record-keeping systems
• Assembles containers and crates, packs goods to be shipped, and prepares identifying information and shipping instructions
• Takes inventory, maintains storage area, organizes, and places stock on shelves
  
  

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proficient written and oral communication skills according to skill requirements
• Possess strong computer skills, able to read, write, and comprehend written instructional documents
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal
  
  

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years of related experience required
• Ability to work at elevated heights without restrictions.
• Knows safe storage and handling procedures for cartons, boxes, and pallets
• Computer skills(Warehouse Management Systems, Excel, etc.)
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged period of standing, bending, reaching, and working with hands
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
• Ability to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands as necessary
• Ability to hear and see to position and safety requirement levels
• Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, and chemicals
  
  

Special Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must be able to successfully pass, as required, a federal, state, or local government's background investigation
