Position Summary :
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Engineer to join our engineering team at the Hilton Garden Inn, Downtown. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the hotel’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff. This is a position that requires a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to facility maintenance in order to satisfy the customer's stay experience.
Key Responsibilities :
Preventive Maintenance : Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, fire safety equipment, pool and spa, fitness equipment and other mechanical systems.
Troubleshooting and Repairs : Quickly identify and resolve maintenance issues related to building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) to minimize downtime and guest disruption.
Guest Services : Respond to guest requests for in-room repairs or maintenance issues in a timely and professional manner.
Equipment and System Monitoring : Monitor the operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure optimal performance.
Safety and Compliance : Ensure the hotel adheres to safety codes and industry standards, including fire safety and health regulations.
Coordination with Other Departments : Work closely with housekeeping, front desk, and other hotel departments to address and resolve any maintenance-related issues that may affect guest satisfaction.
Emergency Response : Assist with emergency repairs and other situations as they arise, including power outages or plumbing emergencies.
Inventory Management : Keep track of tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory, ordering materials as needed.
Documentation : Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections, including digital logs and reports.
Qualifications :
Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience in hotel maintenance or a related field, with a strong understanding of electrical, plumbing, painting and HVAC systems.
Technical Skills : Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Certifications : Valid driver’s license a requirement; any relevant certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) are preferred.
Physical Requirements : Ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and perform physical labor. Must be able to stand for extended periods and walk the property frequently.
Customer Service : Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
Attention to Detail : High attention to detail with a focus on delivering consistent, high-quality results.
Problem-Solving : Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to think quickly and resolve issues efficiently.
Proactive solution-oriented : focused on completing the task fully and timely
Communication : must communicate to manager / supervisor on any task requiring more attention
Availability : Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
