"YOUR CHALLENGE
Reporting to the Vice-President Operations, Falcon Packaging, the Supply Chain Director is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating logistics, distribution and procurement strategies in relation to the daily planning and operational excellence objectives. Define action priorities through rigorous management and monitoring of performance indicators and costs associated with logistics, distribution and procurement. Implement negotiated commercial agreements and advise business partners on strategic purchasing. Target the stakes and develop innovative improvement proposals. Act as an intermediary to escalate issues and actively contribute to the efficiency and quality of the company's transportation logistics and procurement processes.
"RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountable
- Effectively manage the execution of transportation, distribution and procurement.
- Perform front-line management of transportation execution.
- Develop sourcing strategy.
- Ensure compliance with performance indicators.
Responsible
- Identify and address carrier and supplier performance as well as transportation planning and distribution issues.
- Provide plants with logistics, transportation, distribution and procurement support.
- Select and qualify suppliers, negotiate, implement and manage business agreements.
- Analyze transportation and procurement costs.
- Support the operational strategy for logistics, distribution and procurement.
- Support budget development as well as the management and control of logistics, transportation, distribution and procurement costs.
- Track performance indicators.
- Ensure the application of good practices and the efficiency and quality of logistics and procurement activities.
"BACKGROUND AND STRENGTHS
- 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations management or the equivalent.
- Understanding of logistics industry and associated rules and regulations.
- Understanding of sourcing methodology, contract strategy, contract terms, and basic legal terms and conditions.
- Leadership and a collaborative spirit that inspire and engage teams to achieve excellence.
- Deep understanding of carrier operations that encompasses all modes of transportation (including dedicated fleet) in business and daily carrier operations.
- Critical thinker, problem-solver and decision-maker.
- Process-oriented in tandem with creativity, innovation and flexibility.
- Rigor and agility to handle projects in accordance with their scope, budget and timelines.
- Proven ability to improve the efficiency and performance of the activities under your responsibility.
