These roles are critical in providing direct care to patients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being, while also supporting nurses and doctors in delivering medical treatment.
Here's a breakdown of the tasks and their importance :
Bathe and dress patients : Assisting with personal hygiene and grooming to maintain dignity and prevent infections.
Serve meals and help patients eat : Ensuring proper nutrition and hydration, especially for patients who cannot feed themselves.
Take vital signs : Monitoring blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to track patient health.
Turn or reposition bedridden patients : Preventing bedsores and promoting circulation.
Collect information about conditions and treatment plans : Acting as a liaison between patients, caregivers, and medical staff.
Lift patients into beds, wheelchairs, etc. : Assisting with mobility and transfers to ensure patient safety.
Examine patients for bruises, blood in urine, or other injuries / wounds : Identifying potential health issues or complications.
Clean and sanitize patient areas : Maintaining a hygienic environment to prevent infections.
Change bed sheets and restock supplies : Ensuring patient comfort and readiness for care.
