The Architectural Designer position is a mid-level position responsible for creative design of architecture for facilities, attraction concepts, master plans, set designs, and detail design. This role involves working closely under the supervision of Architectural project designers, creative directors, creative managers, and technical designers to develop conceptual and / or detailed plans, sections and elevations in both 2D and 3D. The role will generate and iterate freehand sketches to 2D, 3D and rendering software. The Architectural Designer will be required to collaborate frequently with interdisciplinary creative and technical teams, both in-house and with specialist subconsultants to meet design goals.
Essential Functions :
Architectural Design
- Provide support to the Lead Architectural Project Designer to develop the strategic vision and architectural direction.
- Develop architectural concepts from high level hand sketch concepts and Isometric sketching to schematic level computer generated 2D and 3D documentation.
- Design facilities, sites and masterplans that integrate existing or be able to develop new creative intent.
- Advance conceptual design rough hand sketches to presentation level in refined hand sketches, 2D plans and 3D models.
- Assists in research for design references, materials and products.
- Checking architectural design drawings, plans, programs, specifications, and reports.
- Supervise the implementation of design both internal and with external design consultants.
- Quick hand sketching ability to design multiple floorplans, sections, façade and 3D concepts for review with design team.
- Ability to design fully rendered views of architecture and integrated site components.
- Integrate with master planning and landscape teams both internal and external consultants to create a cohesive set of drawings.
- Collaborate with attraction designers to assist in the design of interior and show set designs as needed.
