Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer with 3-5 years of experience in electrical site design using AutoCAD. The
ideal candidate will have experience supporting utility and renewable energy projects, with experience on substation,
interconnection, and site layouts. This role will assist in developing engineering drawings, coordinating with project teams,
and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop electrical site plans, one-line / single line diagrams, conduit layouts, and wiring diagrams.
• Assist in the design and drafting of substations, transmission interconnections, and renewable energy facilities.
• Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and conduit fill calculations under the guidance of senior
engineers.
• Ensure all designs comply with utility standards, NEC, IEEE, and other applicable codes.
• Work closely with civil, structural, and protection & controls teams to develop coordinated site designs.
• Support project permitting and approval efforts by preparing plan sets and documentation.
• Assist in field investigations and site visits to collect data and verify as-built conditions.
• Maintain and organize project documentation, revisions, and CAD standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers and clients.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in electrical site design for utility-scale projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and/or Civil 3D.
• Knowledge of substation, transmission, and renewable energy site layouts.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC), IEEE, and utility interconnection standards.
• Experience with GIS, ETAP, or SKM (Preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• EIT certification (Preferred) with the goal of obtaining a PE license.
• Willingness to travel for occasional site visits and field assessments.
