What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Specialist position at Falk School?
As the Behavior Specialist, your day will include :
- Developing and implementing targeted Tier 2 and 3 intervention plans based on individual needs.
- Providing direct behavioral and social-emotional support for students identified in Tier 2 and Tier 3.
- Monitoring student progress by collecting and analyzing behavioral data
- Using data to adjust intervention strategies, provide feedback, and report outcomes to the building leadership team.
- Assisting in ongoing development of the MTSS program to ensure alignment with school goals and student needs.
- Participating in data-driven problem-solving meetings, including MTSS and IEP teams, to assess and adjust interventions.
- Providing oversight and training to school staff on best-practice behavioral strategies
- Providing crisis intervention support and feedback
- Collaborating with support teams and stakeholders to maximize multi-disciplinary approaches, and positive outcomes
- Performing formal and informal assessments to understand the function of student behavior
- Developing behavior support plans and train school staff in the implementation of the plan
- Conducting school-wide and department-level trainings in evidence-based, function-focused, behavior strategies
- Working closely with school leaders, including the Behavior Support Coordinator, Principal, Assistant Principal, Assistant Superintendent, and Superintendent to analyze data trends and plan for action steps to address needs
Qualifications for the role :
Competitive Salary of $58,000 to $65,000 a year (actual rate depends on experience)
