Leasing Consultant - Floating
Falkenberg/Gilliam & Associates, Inc. (FGA) is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, self-starter for our leasing consultant position. FGA is an affordable housing property management firm that specializes in affordable housing for seniors and multi-families.
The leasing agent position will handle the leasing at multiple properties owned by the Palm Desert Housing Authority.
Responsibilities:
- Providing leasing coverage when needed.
- Making phone calls to people on the waiting list, fielding phone calls/inquiries, processing rental applications for approval, lease renewals
- Providing property tours and general support in filling the property at the highest and best rate
- Professionally represent the company at all times
- Promoting resident satisfaction and retention by responding to inquiries, questions, and requests promptly, and taking appropriate action to resolve and address service issues
- Assist the manager as needed
Support Operations:
- Operating property management software (OneSite) and completing transactions by entering all required fields correctly and completing updates
- Reviewing resident files and accounting records to determine accurate record keeping, communicating with residents regarding outstanding balances, and enforcing the lease to coincide with the Housing Plan of Palm Desert
- Supporting and coordinating resident and property work orders, including communication between the vendor/contractor, accounting, and the corporate office as needed
- Processing resident move-outs by reviewing lease terms and notice requirements, applying appropriate deposit and lease cancellation fees, if applicable
- Act as the on-site supervisor in the absence of the property manager by organizing and completing daily work, ensuring property condition is reviewed regularly, coordinating maintenance and make-ready tasks with the maintenance tech, and managing the operation of the community in compliance with the company policies, procedures and business practice
Skills and Experience:
- 2-3 years of prior leasing or property-management experience is preferred
- Strong customer service experience preferred
- Have a high attention to detail and are a proactive problem-solver
- Have strong administrative and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Property Management Software (OneSite)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Fair Housing training will be provided at the Management Seminar – prior knowledge of Fair Housing best practices is a plus
Job: Full Time
Salary: $18-22.00 per hour
