Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in alarm systems, including fire alarms and low voltage systems. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to read schematics, as well as proficiency with power tools. The Alarm Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various alarm systems, ensuring they meet safety standards and function effectively.
Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems and related equipment.
- Conduct system design and layout for new installations.
- Perform inspections to detect issues in alarm systems and ensure compliance with NEC regulations.
- Collaborate with clients to assess their security needs and provide alarm system sales support.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Work with fire sprinkler fittings as part of integrated safety solutions.
- Read and interpret schematics to understand system configurations.
- Operate power tools safely and effectively during installation and maintenance tasks.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Alarm Technician or similar role in the security industry.
- A Fire Alarm Certification and/or Alabama Journeyman's License.
- Must have a valid Alabama driver's license
- Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, low voltage wiring, and related technologies.
- Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using power tools.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Knowledge of NEC codes related to alarm systems is preferred.
