What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activities Assistant position at Fall River Health Services?
Fall River Health Services is looking for an Activities Assistant to assist in the development, organization, and implementation of the services of the Activity Department to ensure appropriate programs and activities are provided to meet the needs and interests of the residents. This position reporst to Resident Care Manager.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, hours may vary, 8 hours shifts, weekends as needed
Responsibilities:
Assist with resident activities of daily living as needed to support the resident and caregiving team. Must meet training and requirements for CNA role.
Assist Activity Lead in assessing residents and developing individual programs to encourage residents to maintain health, active lifestyles of their own choosing.
Assist Activity Lead in developing enriching, well-balanced activities in which the individual needs and interests of the resident can be met. This includes the development of the monthly activities schedule, publication, and distribution of the same.
Post the daily activity schedule in the residential living areas in a timely manner.
Implement the activities schedule in an inviting manner .
Assist residents in getting to scheduled events, and in returning to the residential areas after the activities are complete.
Develop and lead small, medium and large group activities.
Keep daily record of attendance of all scheduled activities, both groups and individual activities.
Clean up and disinfect appropriately before and after all activities.
Adhere to standard precautions (PPE usage, hand hygiene).
Complete caregiver activity and CNA competencies through appropriate in-services, trainings, and other opportunities.
- May assist with feeding residents meals. Must meet training and requirements for CNA role.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
- 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
- Must be able to walk and stand for extended intervals
The average Salary for this position is $15.00- $18.11 an hour, depending on years of experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Nursing Assistant Program completion and certification required within 6 months of hire, manager discretion may be used for timeliness of completion. Must meet
- Must have or obtain BLS certification within 90 days of employment
- Current SD Driver’s License (required to be on facility insurance plan to drive facility vehicles to and from resident activity outings) with a clean record.
