What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activity Lead position at FALL RIVER HEALTH SERVICES?
FAll River Health Services is looking for an Activity Lead ensures the coordination, development, implementation, and evaluation of the therapeutic activity program for all residents. This program meets/exceeds all federal, state and local regulations and meets each resident’s individual needs, as well as the resident community, for him/her to attain and maintain his/her highest practicable level of functioning and independence.
Responsibilities:
- Assess each resident’s needs for specialized activities and normalization to maintain as normal of a lifestyle as possible
- Assist with Resident activities of daily living as needed to support the resident and caregiving team. Must meet training and requirements for CNA role.
- Develop and implements a care plan for each resident based on his/her assessed needs and preferences.
- Structure activities and the environment to encourage the resident to feel empowered.
- Function as part of the Care Team, attends daily huddle, and care plan meetings.
- Develop monthly activities calendar, maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies through cautious use and appropriate requisitions.
- Anticipate and addresses the maintenance needs of equipment and facility.
- Assist Resident Care Manager within the activity department including recruiting, participation in interviews and providing performance feedback for caregivers.
- Assist with caregiver activity and CNA competencies through appropriate in-services, trainings and other opportunities.
- Clean up and disinfects appropriately before and after all activities.
- Assist with resident’s requiring dining assistance.
- Adhere to Standard Precautions (PPE usage, hand hygiene)
- Ensure that caregivers follow all policies and procedures, regulations/standards in a professional and ethical manner.
- Maintain all required records.
- Promote positive interdepartmental relations and participates in interdisciplinary quality assurance programs as needed.
- Interact with residents on a regular, timely basis with respectful, straightforward and honest communication in a professional manner.
- Ensure Resident privacy and dignity is maintained.
- Interact with facility caregivers and members of the community on a regular, timely basis with respectful, straightforward and honest communication in a professional manner.
- Write well-organized and clearly written documentation in a timely manner in accordance to regulations and standards to accurately reflect a professional use of terminology and appropriate in depth and scope.
- Provide balanced programming based on the resident’s physical, social/emotional and cognitive needs ensuring that such programming matches the resident’s past and current needs and preferences and supports the maintenance and development of abilities. Support the residents’ in their pursuit of their chosen lifestyle.
- Maintain a program that meets all infection control and safety criteria.
- Update care plan as needed.
- Other duties as delegated per leadership.

- Ability to effectively communicate with residents, their families and caregivers.
- Basic computer skills; basic knowledge of telephone systems and the operation of copy and fax machines.

Working Environment:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
- 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
- Must be able to walk and stand for extended intervals.
The average Salary for this position is $22.00- $24.28 an hour, depending on years of experience.
