What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech Language Pathologist position at FALL RIVER HEALTH SERVICES?
Fall River Health Services is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist. This person plays a vital role in assessing and providing treatment for speech, language, vocal and swallowing disorders. They also assess and provide treatment for cognitive disorders, including memory, communication and processing deficits. Therapist establishes an individual plan of care with associated client goals based off of assessment findings.
Schedule: Monday - Friday with occasional weekend coverage. 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
• Conducting swallowing assessments to determine appropriate dietary consistencies to reduce risks associated with dysphagia.
• Providing motivation, support, and guidance to help clients and staff adhere to dietary recommendations with food and liquid consistencies for safe meal intake.
• Developing personalized cognitive/linguistic programs tailored to clients' specific needs, goals, and medical conditions.
• Educating clients on proper exercises/techniques to address speech, language and swallowing difficulties.
• Monitoring clients' progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal results.
• Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, physical/occupational therapists and nutritionists, to provide comprehensive care for clients.
• Keeping detailed records of clients' assessments, progress, and treatment plans by professional standards and regulations.
• Staying current on industry trends, research, and best practices in speech-language pathology to continually improve the quality of care provided.
• Participating in professional development activities, such as continuing education courses and certifications, to enhance knowledge and skills in the field.
Average pay is $30.55-$38.00/hour depending on experience.
