Definition:
The Assistant Principal, serving as a member of the Management Team, is responsible for all aspects of administration, instructional leadership, teacher evaluations, discipline, and any other duties assigned by the Principal. The Assistant Principal will assume the duties of Principal in the Principal's absence.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Assists in the preparation of teacher supervision schedules.
2.Assists in building the master schedule.
3.Provides assistance and direction in the establishment and maintenance of a system for student discipline.
4.Assist in the counseling of students and parents.
5.Assists in the coordination of all special and adjunct programs on the school site.
6.Prepares reports to and for the Principal.
7.Assists in monitoring student attendance.
8.Provides assistance in implementing District curriculum and ordering textbooks and supplies.
9.Provides communication and public relations with parents and community.
10.Represents the school at community functions, in the absence of the Principal.
11.Assists in the preparation for faculty/staff meetings and involved in presentations to staff.
12.Assists the counselor or Principal with course scheduling for students.
13.Assists in the planning and provision of in?service growth opportunities for staff.
14.Assists staff in developing coordinating student activity programs.
15.Assists in selection of staff members for recommendation to the Superintendent.
16.Assists in the articulation between and among schools of the District and surrounding Districts.
17.Assists in supervising extra and co?curricular activities.
18.Provides assistance in planning for the most effective use of curriculum material, instructional materials, instructional supplies, equipment, building facilities and school grounds.
19.Provides input on budgetary needs.
20.Directs, supervises and evaluates all immediate subordinates.
21.Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
1.Valid California Administrative Credential.
2.Five (5) year's teaching experience.
3.A Master's Degree is desirable.
