Fallingwater (Mill Run, PA)
Fallingwater, a property entrusted to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, designated as a National Historic Landmark and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, is seeking a full-time Café Manager. The person in this position will report to the Executive Chef and will assist with the daily operations of the Fallingwater Café
Duties and Responsibilities:
E Works directly with the Executive Chef in all aspects of running a food service operation including organizing, cooking, employee training and supervision, inventorying, cleaning, and special event catering.
E Evaluates food products to ensure that quality standards are consistently met.
E Supervises Café staff as directed, in the absence of the Executive Chef.
E Assists Executive Chef in training new hires and existing staff, including training on continuing education and compliance with food service regulations, and in overall Café cleaning and maintenance.
E Ensures that cash control measures in the Café are followed.
E Oversees general Café cleaning and maintenance to ensure aesthetic standards are maintained.
E Assists with resolving and satisfying customer concerns in order to provide an exceptional visitor experience.
E Supports the Conservancy’s cost containment and fundraising efforts and needs, as applicable and directed by Chef.
M Performs additional duties and responsibilities as requested.
Qualifications:
Experience in Culinary experience; minimum of two years of culinary preparation experience in similar volume operation with comparable duties and responsibilities.
Prior supervisory experience is required. Must have the ability to assign duties, provide or arrange for training, and supervise employees.
Knowledge of catering for special events is preferred.
Knowledge of supplies, equipment’s and services necessary to run an efficient operation.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well with managers, staff, supplier/vendors, and clients is essential.
Knowledge in sustainable food practices is preferred.
Proven skills as a strong team player with some experience supervising employees and with professional kitchen organization is required.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays, be able to work overtime as necessary, and have flexibility with scheduling and hours.
Proficiency with MS Office software and experience with POS systems required.
Valid driver’s license required.

Location: The position is based at Fallingwater in Mill Run, PA.
Position Duration: This is a full-time, seasonal opportunity which includes a robust benefits package.
