Job description
The Marketing and Audience Development Assistant oversees circulation operations, including delivery of products and processing of payments to ensure established customers receive high-quality service. They use a multi-media toolbox of marketing solutions to develop, implement, and measure outreach and marketing initiatives to support the growth and retention of readership.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Cover and back-up Circulation Customer Service Representative as needed.
- Demonstrate a complete understanding of editorial content, products, audiences, rates, and marketing analytics in order to creatively and strategically participate in enhancements.
- Maintain an inventory and directory of circulation reference materials, ensuring all resources are accurate and current while coordinating new ones as needed.
- Coordinate between editorial and design teams to promote Falmouth Publishing’s products using data-driven social media, web, and newsletter content.
- Continually seek and research new sources of prospective customers and new marketing solutions while providing recommendations to marketing and sales leadership.
- Participate in audience development initiatives to increase community engagement with publications (coordinating, executing, tracking, and/or analyzing).
- Ensure good customer relations by handling all customer requests, questions, and complaints, and facilitating their resolution through personal action and intervention and working with others.
- Support other duties within scope as assigned.
Skills/Abilities:
- Professional, efficient customer service skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate clearly with various departments including editorial, graphic design, and advertising, as well as vendors, contractors and freelancers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for representing organizations in public, during media events and product launches, product demonstrations and while participating at trade shows.
- Project management experience and time-management skills for juggling numerous time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
- Good computer skills for generating reports, viewing marketing metrics, extracting data and sharing this information with other team members in project updates. Working knowledge of basic computer applications, programs and features is a must with experience in web page development or graphic design being very helpful.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Two years of experience in marketing, advertising, or graphic design is a plus.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computers, including basic navigating and problem-solving, typing, and data entry.
- Demonstrated proficiency with office technology, including phones, printers, and postage meters.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
