Salary: $18-$20/hr

CLEVELAND WARD 10 COMMUNITY CENTER

Famicos Foundation needs a community-minded, experienced cook to prepare nutritious lunches for the seniors who come to the Ward 10 Community Center.

Responsibilities

• Develops lunch menus based on availability of products.
• Prepares and cooks meats, fish, poultry, gravies, soups, vegetables and other foods for service in the community center.
• Ensures all meals are consistent with healthy eating re: salt, sugar, fats, etc. Uses portion and presentation standards to create appealing and flavorful dishes.
• Followsall safety and food sanitation laws and regulations.
• Monitors meal quality and guest satisfaction.
• Interacts with guests, provides updated information on nutrition, various cooking techniques and use of different ingredients.
• Shops for food pantry and meal program.
• Leads food distributions for community.
• Partners with external community to bring in resources and activities for seniors.
• Works independently within established procedures.
• Reports to Supervisor.
• Maintains a clean and orderly workstation and kitchen equipment to exceed expectations of inspectors.
  
  

Requirements

• 3-5 years experience in the industry
• Knowledge of nutrition and healthy cooking techniques
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation laws and regulations
• Must have vehicle to transport food from food bank and local pantries.
• High school diploma
  
  

Hours: 9am-4pm; 4 days/week

Wages: $18-$20/hr.
