FCR Head Start/Early Head Start programs are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Behavioral Coach to join our team. The Behavioral Coach will provide expert support, training, and guidance to Head Start and Early Head Start staff, families, and children. The role focuses on fostering positive behavior, enhancing social-emotional learning, and creating nurturing environments that promote the well-being and development of young children. The Behavioral Coach will collaborate with teachers, parents, and community stakeholders to address behavioral challenges and implement strategies that align with Head Start’s goals and performance standards.

The Behavioral Coach will collaborate with teachers, parents, and community stakeholders to address behavioral challenges and implement strategies that align with Head Start’s goals and performance standards.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work directly with teachers and classroom staff to model and implement effective behavioral strategies that enhance children’s socialemotional skills.
- Provide oneonone or group coaching sessions to staff to address specific classroom challenges and create behavior management plans
- Observe classroom environments and provide actionable feedback to promote best practice
- Partner with families to understand individual child needs and develop strategies to address behavioral concerns at home and school.
- Conduct workshops, training sessions, and consultations with families to equip them with tools to support their children’s development.
- Promote evidencebased practices to support the socialemotional development of children, including the use of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
- Collaborate with staff to identify and support children with challenging behaviors or developmental concerns, referring them to specialized services when necessary.
- Design and deliver professional development sessions for staff on behavior management, traumainformed practices, and other relevant topics.
- Stay updated on emerging trends, research, and best practices related to early childhood behavioral health.
- Work closely with program leadership, mental health consultants, and other specialists to ensure alignment with Head Start performance standards.
- Advocate for the needs of children and families, ensuring they have access to community resources and supports.
- Maintain strong relationships with community partners to enhance service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of coaching sessions, observations, and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with all Head Start and Early Head Start policies, procedures, and performance standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Family Studies, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred
- At least 3 years of experience working in early childhood education, behavioral health, or a related field. Coaching or consulting experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Head Start/Early Head Start standards, PBIS, traumainformed care, and socialemotional development in young children.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse families, staff, and community partners.
- Proficient in observing, analyzing, and addressing behavioral challenges.
- Effective in training and coaching adults.
Salary : $55,000 - $70,000
