We are looking for a full time Finance Manager in our main site located in Rochester MN!
The Finance Manager is responsible for the accounting related administrative duties for Families First of Minnesota and all related entities. Currently comprised of various cost centers, it is a blend of multiple programs and funding streams that leverage external partnerships and internal collaborations to achieve positive impact. The Finance Manager handles complex transactions and is responsible for special assignments relating to monthly reporting, grant related budget analysis, audits and other financial activities. This position reports to the Director of Finance, Technology & Operations, but works closely with the finance staff and department directors.
This position is Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm, Hybrid is optional. With a starting pay of $75,000-$85,000/year.
Qualifications:
Computer Skills Software Knowledge:
Knowledge of spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Experience with Abila MIP Fund Accounting a plus.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
CPA or CMA preferred but not required.

Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and fund accounting and direct and indirect OMB costing principles for federal programs. Demonstrated ability in preparing and maintaining accounting records and reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of Families First financial reporting and general ledger structure.
- Ensure timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
- Track the program expenses and prepare reports for the various funders, directors and board of directors for budget versus. actual spending activities. Collaborate with directors to support overall department goals and objectives.
- Monitor and analyze finance department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Responsible for Head Start, Early Head Start and Early Head Start – Child Care Partnership grant monitoring and compliance.
- Ensure various reporting guidelines are met in accordance with grant requirements – both governmental and non-governmental. Facilitate and assist with annual and periodic audits/reviews as required by various grant agencies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new procedure and policies to enhance the workflow of the agency.
- Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
