What are the responsibilities and job description for the Foster Care Mental Health Specialist position at Families First Support Services?
We are currently seeking applicants to fill an immediate need for a Care Navigator/Clinical Care Navigator to work with foster parents and foster children with Mental Health diagnoses. The ideal candidate should have a master’s degree and a clinical licensure or a desire to obtain a clinical licensure. Clinical supervision will be provided for a candidate with an associate clinical license. The current position would be ideal for someone living in or near Burke, McDowell, or Rutherford Counties, North Carolina, as this would be central to the coverage area. Approximately 75% of the job requires travel in these areas at the very least 2 times per month depending on the number of weeks in a month to meet state foster home supervision guidelines. A good bit of your work time would be out of your home.
All applicants MUST have a bachelor’s degree in a human service field and enough work experience to qualify as a child/adolescent mental health qualified mental health professional (QMHP). A QMHP for this position requires a master’s degree with a full or provisional clinical licensure, a master’s degree in a human service-related field with 1-year post-graduate experience working specifically with children (18 and younger) who have a Mental Health diagnosis. Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in a human service-related field and 2 years post graduate experience working with this population would suffice. This position requires that the applicant have excellent verbal and written communication skills, very good organizational skills with a good understanding of computer skills and use of Microsoft Word and Adobe for PDF documents. *******Applicants considered for this position MUST live in North Carolina, otherwise they will be deleted immediately.********
