Job Title: Nutritionist (Bilingual Spanish, Temp-hire)
Salary: Starting at $28/hr DOE
Location: Tustin
Openings: 2 positions, 3-5 months temp-hire
Position Purpose: The Certified Nutritionist plays a pivotal role in cultivating an environment that fosters optimal health for patients, families, and the community through comprehensive nutrition counseling. Reporting directly to the Wellness Manager and collaborating with a dynamic team within an organizational structure encompassing support service areas such as the wellness kitchen, food pantry, acupuncture, exercise physiology & strength training, and mental health, this role demands a profound passion and commitment to addressing the diverse health needs of Families Together of Orange County's clients.
Core Duties and responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
- Conducts a comprehensive intake interview to evaluate a client’s nutritional needs.
- Provides personalized nutritional counseling and advice based on individual client needs.
- Develops nutrition treatment plans tailored to the unique requirements of each client.
- Educates clients on potential nutrition-related issues and strategies for improvement.
- Researches and stays informed on the latest developments in nutrition and their impact on health and fitness.
- Collaborates with a team of healthcare practitioners to develop nutritional management plans for patients.
- Creates nutrition lesson plans for group medical visits and leads group nutrition classes.
- Develops cooking class lesson plans for group medical visits, sources materials, and conducts group cooking classes.
- Delivers health education sessions and classes through engaging cooking demonstrations.
- Ensures the security and confidentiality of patient information by completing and safeguarding medical records.
- Accurately records patient information, measurement data, procedure documentation, and test results in the electronic medical record, securing workstations when finished.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, complying with legal and contractual regulations.
- Manages inventory levels by regularly checking stock, placing orders, and confirming receipt, providing accurate record-keeping through consistent reporting to the immediate supervisor.
- Actively participates in the quality management program.
- Performs office procedures to schedule, check in, and process patients during nutrition visits/sessions.
- Executes Start of Day and End of Day procedures as assigned.
- Undertakes other tasks for which training has been provided, as assigned.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
Education and Training:
- Completion of a certified Nutritionist training program.
- Bilingual: Spanish (Required)
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of related experience.
- Good bedside manner
- Exemplify medical teamwork
- Must excel in multitasking within a high-paced environment.
- Strong computer skills, acute attention to detail, confident and professional communication.
- Responsiveness to the needs of both internal/external stakeholders in a professional and personable manner are expected.
- Knowledgeable in general EMR/EHR systems is preferred.
