POSITION DESCRIPTION
Family Abuse Services is seeking a full time Court Navigator Coordinator. The applicant will act as a point person for community members interested in volunteering with the agency in the court system. Using the empowerment model, this position will provide direct services to victims of domestic violence including safety planning, assistance with domestic violence protective orders, providing clients with crisis counseling including domestic violence information and emotional support. This position will attend civil and criminal court, supervising volunteers and expanding the Court Navigator Program to reach more victims of domestic violence in the court system.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
· B.A. or B.S. in related field and/or 3 years’ experience providing victim advocacy services within the court system
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Ability to work independently with moderate supervision using problem-solving skills
· Excellent written and verbal communications and working knowledge of basic applicable technology
· Demonstrated skills in working in a team
· Solid understanding of the root causes, dynamics and prevention strategies for intimate partner violence, including empowerment-based advocacy and trauma informed approaches.
· Ability to contribute to the empowerment of agency client by acting in a respectful, non-judgmental and confidential manner
· Commitment to issues of diversity, intersection of oppression, and the development of culturally relevant programs to ALL victims. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Advocacy:
· Provide information, referrals, and assistants to clients with:
o 50B Protective orders and 50C no contact orders
o Safety planning
o Victims Compensation Claims
o Information on the criminal justice process
o Victim notification and Address Confidentiality
· Provide crisis counseling and emotional support
· Crisis lines advocacy and support
· Provide leadership and coordination for Civil and Criminal Court proceedings for domestic violence cases
· Recruits and maintains the volunteers that serve as Court Navigator Volunteers
· Maintain and administer training and marketing materials to insure appropriate training for volunteers
· Makes presentations to outside organizations and partners to recruit volunteers
· Maintains a harmonious working relationship with volunteers, executives and staff of other related service agencies, public officials: DA’s office, Judges, etc. by maintaining cooperative contacts with local, state, regional and national leaders
· Create and update client records and input data in Osnium database
· Participate in developing grant submissions, other sustainability activities, and perform other duties as assigned

Pay: $41,500.00 - $50,000.00 per year
