Family Centered Services (FCS) Kinship Navigator (Full-Time)
Family Access Center is currently hiring for a full-time Kinship Navigator covering counties from Woodbury County to Pottawattamie County.
Requirements:
Associate of arts degree in human services plus two years of full-time experience in human services or related field.
Job Responsibilities:
- Travel is required and expected within the counties and surrounding areas served approximately 10-15 counties.
- Demonstrate professionalism as an agency representative when partnering with DHS and other community partners.
- Demonstrates sensitivity to service populations’ cultural characteristics and communicates respectively and effectively with these different situations.
- Identify client and family strengths and protective factors.
- Assess risk and safety.
- Identify environmental factors that impact families and link them to community resources.
- Empower, engage, and build relationships with clients and families.
- Be able to intervene effectively in stressful and crises situation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work to connect the family with community resources and informal supports as identified in the case plan.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Essential Functions Requirements:
- Applicant must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of community resources and service providers in the service area.
- This position is full-time and requires scheduling flexibility with the ability to work evenings and weekends, as necessary to meet contractual obligations.
- maintain on-call availability as needed to respond to crises.
