What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contract Specialist position at Family and Children's Association?
The Opportunity
The Contract Specialist is responsible for the preparation and submission of claims for funding from various funding sources supporting the operations of Family and Children's Association. The Contract Specialist is also responsible for monitoring the contract budget to ensure that allowable funding is maximized.
Responsibilities
- Prepare assigned contract claims and supporting documentation needed to meet the requirements of funding source, including MWBE spending, when required.
- Submit claims in accordance with contract requirements.
- Track and approve contract expenses utilizing NetSuite to ensure claims are consistent with available funding.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with fiscal team, program staff and funding sources.
- Prepare adjustments to the general ledger and accounts receivable subledger to ensure proper accounting for advances and disallowances related to assigned contracts.
- Maintain monthly reports of budget to actual spending for distribution to program personnel.
- Maintain information needed for annual audit, including detailed tracking of claims.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, Contract Manager, Accounting Directors or CFO.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or 5 years of related experience.
- Experience with general ledger accounting software, NetSuite experience a .
- Proficient computer skills with MS Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Additional Information
- $23-29/Hour
- Schedule: Full-Time, 35 hours per week, nonexempt
