What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Residential Counselor position at Family and Children's Association?
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Part-Time Residential Counselor for our 24-hour supervised community residence for adults over age 18 who suffer from persistent mental illness. The residential counselor assists the residents in learning the skills necessary to move on to a more independent living environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the residence is operating in compliance with all regulatory and funding requirements including conducting security checks and fire drills.
- Provide counseling and supervision to residents and assist them in the development and implementation of their service plan.
- Develop and supervise a comprehensive recreational program.
- Supervise residents with daily activities, and with maintaining responsibilities.
- Ensure meals are prepared on a daily basis.
- Complete comprehensive Medicaid billable case notes and submit by the required deadline.
- Assist in 10e11 Electronic Client Record Census and Billing.
- Represent the agency in external meetings and committees as needed and attend all required internal meetings and training.
- Coordinate residents' care with outside agencies by establishing and maintaining open communication in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Transport residents to and from appointments and recreational activities as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, College Degree preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid and clean driver's license required.

Salary: $19.23/hr
