What are the responsibilities and job description for the Skill Builder position at Family and Children's Association?
The Opportunity
The Skill Builder will provide individual and group rehabilitative services to children who are diagnosed with a mental health disorder. Services are provided in the child's home and/or community, are hands on, task oriented and intended to help the child achieve their identified goals and objectives while allowing a temporary break for the child's caregiver.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-person off-site skill building services to assist the child to develop and apply skills in natural settings.
- Provide hands on and task-oriented activities based upon the child's treatment plan.
- Complete progress notes for each session and for telephone calls.
- Complete treatment and safety plans in accordance with State and MCO guidelines.
- Maintain consistent communication with supervisor regarding cases.
- Attend required staff meetings, case conferences, training, and supervision.
- Submit work by deadlines and in compliance with funding regulations and the agency's compliance plan.
- Adhere to agency and NYS requirements including: HIPAA policies, ethical guidelines, safety protocols and OMIG compliance.
- Deliver and document services using a strength-based and family-driven approach.
- Coordinate and collaborate with treatment providers and participate in meetings as needed
- Additional responsibilities to support the operations of the program.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 year's experience in children’s mental health, addiction, foster care and/or a related human services field; or a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field.
- Experience working in a fast paced environment that requires meeting strict deadlines, and experience providing Medicaid billable services preferred.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid and Clean Driver's License
Compensation Information
- The competitive compensation range is reflected with FCA's framework, culture, and values. Individual pay decisions will vary based on skills and experience' while still allowing for growth.
Additional Information
- Salary: $34,000-36,000 Annually
- This role is full-time (35 hours/week),nonexempt
