The Opportunity
FCA is seeking a student intern for our SNUG Program. SNUG is an evidence-based violence reduction initiative that works with High-Risk individuals, community residents, businesses, and community-based organizations to implement strategies to reduce and prevent shootings and killings in communities with high rates of violent crimes.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with outreach workers, including daily communication with staff members.
- Participate in the day-to-day and week-to-week activities with and for the outreach staff.
- Assist in planning monthly Participant and Community activities.
- Provide individual and family counseling sessions to Identified victims of crime and youth who are involved in high risk activities.
- Must maintain a case load of five clients.
Qualifications
- 1st or 2nd year MSW student (2nd year preferred).
- HS Diploma/GED required; some college preferred.
- Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
- Valid NYS Driver's license with a safe and responsible driving history
