The Social Work Counselor works with foster care children referred by the Department of Social Services to develop independent living skills
This is a great opportunity for a recent college graduate!
Responsibilities
- Develop and facilitate independent living skills workshops.
- Provide contacts and supports for foster families to facilitate implementation of independent living skills in the home.
- Coordinate service efforts with DSS caseworkers.
- Conduct monthly home visits to youth in their foster homes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, education or related field required.
- One-year full-time experience working with adolescents.
- Valid and clean driver's license
- Basic computer knowledge of MS Office.
Additional Information
Schedule:
- Full-time, 35 hours per week.
- Schedule: Monday 12-8 pm, , Tuesday through Friday 9am-5pm.
- Location: Bohemia
