Job Description

Family Ark provides individual, family, and group therapy services to youth and families in southern Indiana. The Clinical Therapist, Lotus House provides therapeutic interventions in the office setting and collaborates with team members, families and other professionals to meet each client’s specific goals and needs. This individual works with DCS and/or family recovery court-involved families to address behavioral health, substance use and family-focused needs. This position will be responsible for therapeutic services to clients residing in our new program, the Lotus House. Lotus House will provide a supportive, sober living environment for women with substance use disorder. They will reside on the Family Ark Campus with their children for six months while receiving needed substance use treatment. This position reports to the Lotus House Program Manager.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Conducts a complete biopsychosocial intake assessment for clients entering Lotus House to include, at a minimum the individual’s and familial history of disease, mental health or substance use; environmental factors in the home; history of trauma such as childhood abuse, neglect or exposure to domestic violence; parenting abilities if applicable; stability of work or school; formal and informal support systems; household management skills; recent or current stressors like job less or death; and suicide risk.
• Facilitates individual, family and group therapy to Lotus House clients and their families as appropriate.
• Facilitates the Intensive Outpatient program for women with co-occurring substance use and trauma (on an as needed basis).
• Maintains all client case records by documenting client contacts, as well as contacts with referral sources, schools, parents, and other professionals.
• Participates in child and family team meetings and court proceedings as necessary for client care.
• Participates in 24 hour on-call rotation.

Minimum Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, psychology or related field.
• 2 years of like social service experience in his/hers/their respective discipline.
• Clinical license issued by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency as a Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist or Mental Health Counselor or Clinical Addictions Counselor. LCAC or LCACA preferred.
• Ability to assess and coordinate the treatment needs for complex family systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse social and economic backgrounds.
• Must be able to pass extensive background checks.
