(Community Response Initiative to Strengthen Emergency Systems) Pilot program, ensuring seamless operations and impactful community engagement. This role involves supervising the mediator street team, managing staffing processes such as onboarding, training, and staff development, and coordinating project implementation. They will assist with project developments, documentation, and evaluation efforts to assess the project's effectiveness and impact, working to continuously improve strategies to meet community and organizational needs.

MAJOR DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Staff Supervision and Management
- Supervise and manage the C.R.I.S.E.S. mediator street team, ensuring effective performance and adherence to project goals
- Recruit, select, onboard, and retain staff members
- Conduct staff training and ensure compliance with project objectives, policies, and best practices, including identifying training needs
- Review staff documentation and generate reports to track project outcomes, client progress, and compliance
- Assist with evaluation of project to ensure quality and effectiveness
- Develop project plans and timelines to achieve project goals and objectives, including staff deployment and oversight of activities
- Assist with developing and/or obtaining educational materials on trauma, conflict resolution, or resource navigation to empower community members
- Establish and nurture relationships with community members and partnering entities
- Provide community resources and referrals to those in need
- Facilitate conflict resolution or mediation sessions to address interpersonal or community tensions and promote healing
- Lead and supervise de-escalation strategies during crisis situations in the community
- Maintain records of community engagement activities, event outcomes, and feedback received
- Advocate for clients by addressing systemic barriers to resources and partnering with local organizations, agencies, and support networks
- Participate in leadership meetings
- Support the dispatcher as needed
- Troubleshoot special cases by providing guidance and role modeling
- Travel to meet departmental needs
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager
- Associate or bachelor's degree in behavioral health, social science, counseling, social work, or a related field and/or 2 years’ experience in mediation/crisis intervention
- Experience working with programs addressing houselessness, substance use disorders, criminal justice, and/or mental health issues
- Knowledge of restorative approaches such as harm reduction, motivational interviewing, theoretical change models, trauma-informed care, non-violent communication, crisis intervention, and emotional regulation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage culturally diverse populations and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to take initiative, develop creative solutions, and execute tasks in an organized and timely manner
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and/or Slack applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, calendars, and messaging tools
- Trainer in conflict resolution and/or intervention.
- Experience with dispatching/deploying staff using a web-based software.
- Bilingual Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin), Vietnamese, or Spanish a plus
- Knowledge of the public resources throughout Alameda County
- Experience using Microsoft 365 Suite and Slack
- Valid California driver’s license. 
- Ability to communicate clearly with others
- Ability to see and hear to interact with others
- Ability to work and walk outdoors for extended periods of time.
- Ability to use a computer as well as a smartphone
- Ability to travel
- To lift a minimum of 25 lbs
- Vision 20/20 with correction.
