In this important role, you will ensure accurate coding of healthcare claims to facilitate timely reimbursements from insurance companies and government programs. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Analyze and Code: Review provider documentation to accurately assign codes for diagnoses, treatments, and procedures.
- Compliance and Accuracy: Ensure codes meet legal and insurance requirements and confirm all necessary authorizations are in place before submission.
- Appeals Management: Review denied patient claims, evaluate appeal options, and re-file as necessary.
- Error Identification: Spot and report error patterns, ensuring any mistakes are corrected promptly.
- Collaboration: Work with medical providers to clarify documentation and avoid misinterpretations.
- A/R Management: Enter payments and adjustments into our A/R system accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure Billing Timeliness: Support the timely and accurate submission of all electronic claims.
- Confidentiality: Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA, federal regulations, and Family Care Health Centers policies.
What You Bring:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree or Certificate in Medical Coding or related field - REQUIRED.
- Certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required. Coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC is a plus!
- Experience: 2 years of experience in medical coding.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to meet deadlines efficiently.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.55 - $31.65 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
