If so, Family Care Health Centers is looking to add a WIC Clerk to our Nutrition Services Department! In this role, the WIC Clerk is responsible for assisting in the collection and entry of data needed for the certification process for WIC Program applicants. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provides clerical support to the nutrition department (answering telephone, scheduling appointments, etc.).
- Collects and enters WIC certification data, including demographic information and height, weight and bloodwork data.
- Issues WIC benefits and provides all aspects of the WIC program explanation.
- Communicates effectively and works closely with WIC staff to create an efficient system and quality program while maintaining WIC caseload.
- Refers clients to appropriate community, health, and social services.
- Assists in the promotion of breastfeeding by using language supportive of breastfeeding and referring participants for follow up with the breastfeeding team as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent – REQUIRED.
- Two (2) years Medical Assistant or health care setting experience – PREFERRED.
- Two (2) years experience in a community health nutrition program – PREFERRED.
- Must demonstrate good customer service and communication skills.
- Successful completion of state required training as designated by state WIC office.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $15.89 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
