Description
Title: Radiology Technician
Location: North Cascade Family Physicians
City: Mount Vernon, WA
Position: Part-time, Thursday & Friday, 8:00am - 6:00pm, non-exempt (hourly)
Compensation: The full wage scale is $24.25 - $33.95 per hour. Placement within the wage range is determined by the candidate’s relevant experience.

Job Summary: The Radiology Technician is responsible for performing X-rays and/ or other radiographic procedures while adhering to FCN company policies and standards. The X-ray technician conducts routine X-ray examinations or other radiology procedures as defined within their role. Validates physician and/or Allied Health Professional orders and identifies appropriate means of acquiring ordered exams to ensure quality radiographs. We are looking for a qualified, motivated individual with a passion for family medicine who can:
- Transport patients to radiographic room providing a verbal explanation of the process: assists patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed; prepares and maintains room as appropriate.
- Prepare related documentation in EMR and written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, progress reports, and other such reports.
- Maintain X-ray, supplies and other equipment in efficient operating order and supply; Ensure preventative maintenance is performed on a regularly scheduled basis; contact outside service for major malfunctions according to established guidelines.
- Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, and quality assurance program and safety.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
- Adhere to the assigned work schedule (attendance and punctuality).
- Consistently meets quality standards and compliance with FCN standards and within the appropriate scope of practice.
- Seeks assistance as needed and asks questions in a timely manner and to appropriate staff.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of anatomy and skill in recognizing normal and abnormal variants and radiation safety.
- Knowledge of a medical office practice
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in working with MS Word, Excel, email and Databases.
- Comprehend and communicate information accurately and clearly (verbally and in writing, in person and via phone) with patients, all levels of personnel, and other individuals and groups.
- Accurately perform detailed work, (i.e. plan, multitask, organize and prioritize work)
- Works as part of a team that shares and leverages the strengths of its members
- Discern and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an approved American Registry of Radiologic Technology program
- One-year diagnostic radiology experience preferred
- Current BLS or within 60 days of hire
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger coordination, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and listen attentively. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Immunization Requirements: Employees are required to meet immunization standards in accordance with federal, state, and organizational health and safety guidelines, as applicable to the role. A simple process is in place for employees to request exemptions for medical or religious reasons.
