POSITION SUMMARY
The Administrative Assistant I assists with various office duties to support school administration.
REPORTS TO: Assistant Principal
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Coordinates substitutes for teacher absences and verifies timesheets for substitutes and staff.
- Responsible for various financial duties, including budgeting, reconciling receipts, purchasing, and inputting requisitions and vouchers.
- Maintains student files and record placement requests.
- Manages Kid Zone enrollment, tuition payments, purchasing, and parent communication.
- Manages and verifies data reports for the Parents As Teachers program.
- Submits mileage reports to the business office for reimbursement.
- Assists with other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS – Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
- Some college is required.
- At least 2 years’ experience is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES – May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills, and abilities commonly associated with the job.
- Requires the extensive use of technology on a daily basis.
- Requires strong organization to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely fashion.
- Requires the ability to work well with others to provide cohesive services to the district.
- Requires strong attention to detail.

- Required to occasionally move objects weighing up to 10 pounds around the workspace.

WORK ENVIRONMENT – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
- General office conditions. Exposed to moderate noise levels.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Eight hours per day. Ten-month.
Education Requirements: Some college is required.
Experience: Minimum of 2 - 3 years experience as an administrative assistant or equivalent position. Prior school district office experience is highly desirable.
