Family Centered Services of Alaska (FCSA) is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) corporation founded in 1989 by Fairbanks, Alaska community members committed to helping children with a wide spectrum of behavioral and mental health needs. Today, FCSA has over 100 employees dedicated to our mission of providing unconditional care to children and their families.
FCSA provides behavioral and mental health services to youth aged 5-19. Services include outpatient therapy, education, foster care, and short or long-term residential treatment. FCSA is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and was one of the first organizations to be licensed by the state to establish, recruit, and monitor foster homes.
Smart Start Learning Center is a subsidiary of FCSA and provides daytime care to families in our community. Employees of FCSA are eligible to enroll their children in childcare services and enjoy a discount on their monthly tuition (contingent on enrollment availability).
About the Job
Family Centered Services of Alaska is looking for a qualified individual to fill the Quality Assurance Specialist role at our organization. The Quality Assurance Specialist provides the day-to-day Quality Assurance support for Family Centered Services of Alaska. An individual hired for this position will work to provide support to leaders and departments to ensure that all FCSA treatment forms, documentation, and treatment standards meet or exceed all applicable federal, state, accreditor, or funding agency laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Complete reviews and audits of client record forms as assigned, to provide insight and data to leaders and their team regarding the compliance and quality of documentation in accordance to payor, licensing, state, and accreditor regulations.
2. The ability to think creatively, develop abstract ideas and provide both short- and long-range visionary strategies.
3. Process and/or complete satisfaction surveys for stakeholders, clients, and staff as assigned.
4. Provide FCSA Training Department education in completion of all client documentation and assist, in training of program staff in how to complete forms and/or make appropriate treatment documentation as assigned.
5. Complete audit compliance scores and qualitative data to report current and trending outcomes to leaders and stakeholders regarding record documentation and other treatment metrics.
6. Community liaison that will represent FCSA to the professional and social community.
7. Acts as technical resource to staff.
8. Other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in a field that will provide necessary training to perform the duties of the position, preferred. Some of those skills include: familiarity with data collection systems, information system design, and computer program operation.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
3. One year of experience in quality assurance administration.
4. A thorough understanding of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and Power-Point.
5. Knowledge of Alaska childcare, Alaska child and family service system, Medicaid regulations, DMHDD, and juvenile justice regulations, laws, and policies. Knowledge of accreditor standards for Behavioral Health Services.
6. Current Alaska driver’s license, personal vehicle insurance, and driving history that allows for insurability by FCSA auto insurance carrier.
7. Freedom from previous criminal convictions that in the judgment of FCSA would adversely affect one’s ability to work safely with children based upon a fingerprint and/or records check.
This position is a driving position. Applicants will be required to submit a driving record if selected for the position.
All applicants must be at least 21 years of age due to State of AK regulations and must pass a State of AK Background Check.
