What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Facilitator position at Family & Children's Aid?
Family & Children's Aid is seeking individuals who are passionate about working with children and making a difference.
Family & Children's Aid operates a therapeutic after school and summer program that helps to provide a safe and structured environment for kids who struggle emotionally and/or behaviorally. Our goal is to engage children in activities that promote social, emotional and intellectual learning through our Extended Day Treatment Program while also providing Clinical support.
Part-time Treatment Worker Monday through Friday, 25 hours per week.
This position has two different schedules, a school year schedule and a summer schedule. Candidates need to be able to work both schedules.
The schedules are as follows:
School Year Schedule:
Monday: 1:45pm-7:15pm
Tuesday: 1:45pm-7:15pm
Wednesday: 1:30pm-7:30pm
Thursday: 1:00pm-7:00pm
Friday: 2 hours (remote)
Summer Schedule:
Monday: 8:30am-2:30pm
Tuesday: 8:30am-2:30pm
Wednesday: 8:30am-3:00pm
Thursday: 8:30am-2:30pm
Friday: 2 hours (remote)
After School Program Facilitator monitors and provides care for children participating in the therapeutic after school program and are responsible for the children’s health and safety. Additional Responsibilities Include:
· Maintain staff to client ratio
· Facilitate/ co-facilitate psycho educational groups
· Manage behaviors and assist clients in utilizing coping skills and de-escalation techniques
· Assist with developing and implementing clinical treatment plans
· Participate in treatment plan reviews
· Assist with transportation to and from program
· Participate in Multi Family Group activities on an as needed basis
· Complete daily progress notes
Qualifications and Skills
· Must have knowledge, skills, ability and the desire to work with children struggling with behavioral and/or emotional needs
· Valid CT Drivers License
· Available to fulfill the work schedule as outlined in position posting
· Minimum of one (1) year experience working with similar population highly preferred
