Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding and timely submission of claims to insurance companies. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial health of our practice and requires a strong understanding of medical billing systems, coding standards, and compliance regulations.
Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical records using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Prepare accurate and timely invoices to send to patients with outstanding balances.
- Be able to explain account balances to patients in a respectful way and with patience.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process.
- Review patient records for completeness and accuracy prior to billing.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Maintain organized medical records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing codes, regulations, and practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in a medical office setting.
- Knowledge of ChiroSpring Chiropractic Software a plus.
- Strong knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding and medical collections.
- Familiarity with various medical billing systems and software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, providers, and insurance companies.
- Certification in Medical Billing or Coding is preferred but not required.

Pay: $17.83 - $18.76 per hour
