Family Connections, Inc. is multisite mental health center providing mental health counseling, medication management, and behavioral health services within western Iowa and southeast Nebraska.
This is a great job opportunity for a Billing Specialist who is experienced and able to work independently.
This position is responsible for electronically billing all the patient claims, including processing rejections, posting insurance payments, and itemized billing as requested.
Job Duties include:
- Timely and accurate data entry of payments received from insurance companies
- Timely processing of all rejected and denied claims submitted to payers
- Billing of all claims generated by the agency to the appropriate insurance company
- Ability to work with EOB or EOP, and mental health CPT codes
- Use problem solving skills to follow up on all denied insurance claims
- Some knowledge in commercial insurance also with secondary billing preferred.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced setting to complete tasks assigned
- Collaborating with patients, third party institutions, and other team members to resolve billing inconsistencies and errors
- Inputting payment history, upcoming patient information, and other financial data into an individual profile.
- Informing patients of any missed or upcoming patient issues
- Computer proficiency and knowledge of medical billing insurance portals such as availity a plus.
