Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselor to join our team. This role involves working closely with clients to develop personalized treatment plans and facilitate therapeutic sessions in a clinical setting. A strong background in pediatrics, PTSD care, or special education is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to understand clients' needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions focusing on various issues such as addiction, PTSD, and family dynamics.
- Utilize techniques from applied behavior analysis and clinical counseling to support client progress.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation of client interactions and treatment outcomes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in counseling and therapy.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment for clients to express their feelings and concerns.
Experience
- A Masters degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required; relevant licensure or certification is required.
- Experience working with children and families is essential; familiarity with pediatrics, child family counseling, or special education is a plus.
- Proven experience in addiction counseling or PTSD care will be highly regarded.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds are crucial.
- Knowledge of medical documentation practices within a clinical setting is beneficial.
