Part Time Overnight Weekend ShelterAdvocate

The Family Crisis Center, Inc. is looking for a part time weekend overnight Victim Advocate at the Domestic Violence Shelter. Shifts are overnights from 6pm until 8am.

Job Description:

• Effectively answer crisis hot line to provide education, advocacy, and referrals.
• Demonstrate a professional attitude in dealing with clients, staff, and other professionals.
• Complete initial intake and exit procedures.
• Be able to maintain working relationship with client while providing necessary services to help clients reach their goals.
• Facilitate group and individual advocacy services.
• Assist shelter residents with daily living and parenting activities
• Refer to community resources and services necessary for shelter residents and their children
• Ensure accurate documentation including case note documentation.
• Ensure compliance with agency/shelter policies and procedures.
• Complete assigned night or weekend duties.
• Maintain the enforcement of Shelter Guidelines.
• Assist in the orientation of new staff and volunteers.
• Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
• Attend and participate regularly in case consultation with staff

Ideal candidates:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Set and maintain ethically appropriate boundaries
• Self - motivated
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 28 per week
