As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and dental team to provide high-quality dental care to our patients. This is a Part-time position with competitive pay
Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients
- Prepare treatment rooms for procedures, sterilizing instruments and setting up equipment
- Take and develop dental X-rays as directed by the dentist
- Perform dental receptionist duties, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling billing and insurance claims
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures, passing instruments and materials as needed
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to strict infection control protocols
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns
- Take accurate medical histories and record vital signs of patients
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assisting program preferred
- Current certification in dental radiography (X-ray) required
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Proficiency in Dentrix or similar dental practice management software
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to provide compassionate care to patients
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with medical documentation and maintaining accurate patient records
- Understanding of aseptic technique and infection control protocols
