What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Specialist position at Family Development Services ~A Head Start Organization~?
Responsibilities Include
- Participate as a team member in the identification of social/behavioral problems.
- Design, implement, and follow up on behavioral management programs for students to remediate behavioral and social problems.
- Develop and maintain psychosocial and behavioral data on these students.
- Plan and confer with the classroom teacher of these students as requested concerning any behavioral, social or personal problems affecting the students.
- Assist with in-service activities regarding techniques for remediating behavioral, social or personal problems of students.
- Participate in the referral process for students who require further evaluation and/or follow-up services to the appropriate personnel or community agencies.
Specific Requirements
- Must have a Bachelor’s in Social Work, Psychology, or related behavioral or human service field Home visiting experience preferred
- Knowledge of child development
- Knowledge of behavior management principles and techniques
- At least 1 year of experience working with children and families.
