What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outreach Clerk position at Family Enrichment Network, Inc.?
The ERSEA Clerk Supports clerical and administrative needs as they relate to the ERSEA (Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection Enrollment, and Attendance) system. Carries out routine activities for ERSEA Coordinator including organization, reports, filing, enrollment inquiries, training preparation and data entry.
Associates Degree in Human Services or related field with knowledge of child development or High School diploma with two years of experience. Job requires traveling within area served by the program. Must have valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Capable of making independent decisions and using good judgment within proper policy and procedures.
Essential Duties:
- Communicates with families in a positive manner providing a supportive social and emotional climate.
- Assists in implementing and adheres to Head Start/Early Head Start Program Performance Standards, specifically Part 1302, Subpart A – Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, Attendance: 1302.
- Takes direction from ERSEA Coordinator and completes ERSEA tasks as assigned.
- Completes Head Start and Early Head Start applications and prescreening with families and verifies eligibility and age.
- Verifies the age and eligibility documentation upon receipt of each application and prescreening from the Family Advocates.
- Takes phone calls from parents and answers questions about the enrollment process and the waiting list. Returns phone calls in a timely manner.
- Mails out applications for Head Start/Early Head Start and inputs the information into Child Plus.
- Attends monthly recruitment meetings.
- Actively participates in ongoing recruitment of families to the Head Start/Early Head Start program.
- Enters recruitment information into the Child Plus database and tracks all age and income eligibility information.
- Projects a positive attitude about Head Start/Early Head Start and Family Enrichment Network.
- Participates in workshops, in-service training, and regular staff meetings. Shares appropriate information.
- Keeps ERSEA Coordinator informed about recruitment activities.
- Meets weekly with ERSEA Coordinator to discuss ERSEA.
- Participates in the community visibilities.
- Participates in the Head Start/Early Head Start Self-Assessment process annually.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 per hour
