What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education One to One Aide position at Family Enrichment Network, Inc.?
The Special Education Services One-on-One Aide assists a designated child with disabilities participating in the Special Education Services Program to carryout their Individual Education Plan.
Essential Duties:
- Provides for the health and safety of all children.
- Assists in delivering individual and small group activities.
- Maintains confidentiality as defined by the organization.
- Communicates with children in positive and supportive manner.
- Accepts direction from supervising teacher regarding educational and classroom management procedures.
- Works with teacher and therapists as a positive team member by participating in case conferences and team meetings.
- Accepts teacher guidance in fostering positive communication with parents.
- Maintains accurate, confidential, and prompt anecdotal documentation.
- Models developmentally appropriate practices including: being sensitive to the needs of children, maintaining child centered environment, and using guidance and redirection to deal with challenging behaviors.
- Implements IEP goals under the direction of teacher and therapists.
- Assists in the preparation of classroom materials and supplies for daily use.
- Assists in the care and inventory of classroom materials and equipment.
- Maintains classroom procedures and schedules.
- Is an active participant in workshops, in-service training and regular staff meetings.
- Maintains a professional and positive attitude.
- Accepts direction and guidance from supervisors.
- Assists and supports new staff members to maintain quality of service to children.
- Assists in the care and inventory of classroom equipment.
- Participates in workshops, in-service training and regular staff meetings. Shares information.
