Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Optometrist for a full scope, primary care, long established practice in Winter Haven, Florida. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of eye disorders including but not limited to glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye, keratoconus, etc.. The Optometrist will work closely with patients to ensure their eye health and vision needs are met, while also maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Duties
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision, diagnose and treat eye conditions.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and other treatments as necessary.
- Provide patient education on eye health, vision care, and the use of prescribed optical devices.
- Maintain detailed medical records for each patient, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies.
- Provide exceptional customer service to enhance patient experience and satisfaction.
- Perform pediatric eye exams and manage care for younger patients as needed.
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state optometry license.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy related to the visual system and the ability to assess vital signs.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques in a clinical setting.
- Proficient in managing medical records and understanding HIPAA regulations.
- Experience with optical systems and equipment is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with patients of all ages.
- Previous experience in pediatrics is a plus but not required.
