Family First Health is seeking a Director of Pharmacy Operations for our George Street, York location. Candidates should have previous management experience, a working knowledge of medical terminology and be computer proficient. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assist with the day-to-day pharmacy/ clinical, and business operations of the onsite pharmacy;
  • Responsible for the direct supervision of the Community Pharmacy Case Manager, and indirect oversight of the 340b Analyst, 340B Biller, and Pharmacy Technicians, including: recruitment; on-boarding; timely performance management and goal setting; time and attendance approval in payroll system; monitoring job satisfaction and engagement; and following all organizational expectations throughout the employee life cycle.
  • Lead and manage daily pharmacy staff, supporting the PIC, to ensure a competent and motivated team;
  • Develop and implement, in collaboration with the PIC, pharmacy policies, procedures, and protocols in compliance with state regulations and industry standards;
  • Troubleshoots daily operational challenges, including patient experience concerns;
  • Serve as point person for controls over storage, distribution and safe practices related to medications onsite;
  • In collaboration with the PIC, assist with the startup of pharmacy/ clinical and business operations of the onsite pharmacy;
  • Understands and directs 340B compliance and revenue cycle management, with the assistance of the 340B billing and data staff members;
  • Manage the department budget, monitor financial performance, and implement cost-saving or efficiency measures, while maintaining quality pharmacy services to our patients;
  • Coordinate and participate in quality improvement initiatives, such as medication safety programs, adverse event reporting, and medication utilization evaluations;
  • Oversee the implementation of pharmacy information systems, automation, and technology solutions, in partnership with IT;
  • Develop planning and strategy for health center pharmacy services, using a patient centered, growth mindset;
  • Present health center pharmacy operational reports to leadership as applicable, providing analysis and recommendations to improve pharmacy services and meet organizational goals;
  • Maintains strict adherence to regulatory policies;
  • Maintains courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients;
  • Demonstrates a commitment toward meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers;
  • Performs all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare management, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of diverse team leadership, preferably in healthcare;
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex operational challenges/ issues;
  • Strong understanding of financial management and budgeting;
  • Strong interpersonal and professional skills to work effectively with the health center staff in making recommendations, assisting in problem solving concerning the provision of health center pharmacy services, supervising, training and leading staff to excellent service delivery.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Experience working in matrixed reporting structures, with demonstrated collaboration skills between departments;
  • Experience working with Medicaid population;
  • Familiarity with Federally Qualified Health Centers, Community Health Centers, or primary care practices strongly preferred
  • Direct experience working with Medicaid and Medicare programs, PBMs, and third-party insurance groups;
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Confidence with technology used in communications, documentation, and record keeping including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
  • Strong computer proficiency and experience;
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to communicate well and in a caring and supportive manner with individuals of all backgrounds.
  • Ability to adhere to all Family First Health’s policies, processes, and procedures, especially, Code of Conduct, Workplace Conduct, and the Remote/Telework Policy if indicated eligible to work remotely or telework.
