General Description:
Substitute teachers are responsible for assisting the teacher in creating and maintaining a safe, educational, developmentally appropriate, and nurturing environment for children and a welcoming attitude towards parents.
Substitute teachers hours are per diem only and are not permanent.
Qualifications:
The Substitute Teacher must be at least 17 years old and working towards a High School Diploma/GED. Own reliable transportation is required. CPR/First Aid is not required but is helpful.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the teacher in implementing a safe, educational, developmentally appropriate, and nurturing environment for children
- Meet all direct physical needs of children including diapering, toileting, feeding, napping, dressing, and comforting as required.
- Assist teachers in care of children in their daily routines as directed.
- Assist in cleaning the classroom, toys, bathrooms, and other areas of the Center/Program as needed.
- Interact on an individual as well as group basis with children in care.
- Work cooperatively with other Teachers and the Program Director.
- Respect confidentiality of families and staff.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 – 10 per week
