General Summary
Therapy interns observe and assist in the provision of counseling/therapy services to children, adults, and families experiencing emotional, behavioral, and developmental problems. Interns shadow and assist in the facilitation of therapeutic groups. Interns regularly attend and assist in the facilitation of staff meetings, including weekly group supervision. Interns attend weekly individual supervision. Interns become familiar with and assist in the implementation of evidence-supported and trauma-informed practices used within the therapy program.
Essential Job Functions
- Adhere to the ethical standards of FamilyForward and those of the specific profession.
- Maintain core values standards.
- Assist therapists in day-to-day functions of the therapy program.
- Assist therapists in providing therapeutic services to families with more than one child.
- Observe and assist therapists in individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
- Accompany therapists on home visits to provide therapeutic services to individuals and families.
- Complete assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes as needed.
- Participate actively in weekly individual and group supervision
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Assist in the maintenance and organization of therapy rooms and office spaces.
- Complete other duties assigned as needed.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Enrolled in a masters degree program in Social Work, Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily.

Working Conditions
Normal working conditions are absent of extreme factors. Employee will remain in stationary position 50% of the time and frequently lift items up to 25 pounds or greater.
