Description
The Family Service Center of Montgomery County is seeking a full-time Family Advocate to provide case management support to families in Montgomery County.
The Family Service Center offers a continuum of services designed to strengthen families including case management, computer skill training, life skills, job readiness, and parenting education. The Family Advocate works one-to-one with families and helps them to identify their strengths and to set goals that are important to them. The Family Advocate uses strength-based case management, provided both at the center and through home visits, to assist families in attaining their goals.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have at minimum an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in a human services field. Experience in direct case management work with families is preferred. The candidate must have dependable transportation, excellent case file documentation skills, proven communication skills, confidence using MS Office software, and a thorough understanding of confidentiality. In addition, the successful candidate will have proven time management skills, be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, have a motivating and encouraging work style, be very attentive to details, and enjoy being part of a staff team that undertakes many different projects to help strengthen families.
