Family Guidance center of Alabama is seeking dedicated and compassionate Substitute Teachers for our Head Start Program. As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children ages 6 weeks to 5. You will be responsible for providing support in the absence of regular classroom teachers and assisting with daily classroom activities, including supervision, instruction, and interaction with the children in accordance with Head Start policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support classroom teachers by following lesson plans and maintaining an engaging learning environment.
- Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
- Assist with daily activities, including educational exercises, playtime, and meal preparation.
- Communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents.
- Follow all center policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Head Start standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Previous experience working with children, especially in a classroom setting, is a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a flexible, on-call capacity.
- Must pass a background check and physical exam.
